When calling in a student absence please use our 24-hour absence line 419-937-2802 and leave your name, students name, grade and the reason for the absence. When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and parent signature must be turned in to the office.

**If you haven't filled out your emergency information as well as the rest of the school forms from the beginning of the year online at Final Forms, please do so ASAP! Any changes please keep Final Forms updated at all times such as address, phone numbers, and contact information, it is very important we have current information on every student here at H-L. Thank you!

Congratulations to our 3 BVC Champions Blake Hoover in the 106lb weight class, Kole Freeman in the 113lb weight class, Caden Crawford in the 126lb weight class. 4th Place Winners were Logan Holcomb in the 132lb weight class and Caleb Hinton in the 170lb weight class. Sectionals will be this Friday, 5:00 at Van Buren. Good luck to all our Chieftain Wrestlers.

Congratulations to our Elementary and the JH/HS for both being selected as 2018 Purple Star Designees by the Ohio Department of Education. We were recognized for our "outstanding commitment to serving military students and families in our district" and because "we serve as an inspiring model for other schools in Ohio to follow." Thanks to Steve Acton, Anne Arnold and Brenda Burns for the contributions in the application process.  And thanks to all of you for your commitment in recognizing and supporting the sacrifices that military families make.

LOST AND FOUND- Starting Monday, February 26th at 8:00 all lost and found items will be displayed on Main Street for students to claim.  Anything left behind at 3:00 on Wednesday, February 28th will be taken to Goodwill and donated. Please be sure all students check out the lost and found.

JH Track - will have conditioning next Thursday and Friday from 3-4:30 for any athlete interested.

Blood Drive - Hopewell - Loudon High School Scarlet Gym Wednesday, March 7, 2018, 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Appointments can be scheduled with Mrs. Bodart. You must be 16 years old to donate with a signed parental permission form. Must have a valid driver's license or Photo I.D.

There is a "Mattress Special" the week of Feb 19th-24 at Ewald's Furniture Corner o State Route 224 and 100 in Tiffin.  There will be a variety of mattresses on special with queen sets starting at $299. The Spanish Club will receive 15% off all mattress sales to help our students going to Europe.  Please share this news with family and friends.

Save the Date! The Seneca County Opportunity Center's Annual Celebrity Basketball Game will be at Heidelberg's Seiberling Gym on March 20th at 7:00 pm.  The night is dedicated in honor of the Rainey Family. T-shirts are available to purchase with proceeds going to the Special Olympics (#raineystrong on the sleeve).                            Order forms are in our school office. Please turn in no later than February 27th.

Reminder: Speed Camp is held every Saturday at 9 am in the Chieftain Gym. All athletes in grades 7-12 are welcome.

Weight room for non-winter sports will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school.

Seniors: Wednesday, March 21, 2018, seniors are invited to attend a Job Fair at Columbian High School from 12:00-2:30 pm. If you are interested in being excused to attend this job fair, please see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office.

Seniors: Reminder that you need to turn in 20 hours of community service for graduation, this is a REQUIREMENT. There are still many students with NO hours documented. We have the paperwork in the office that you need to fill out, if you have any questions please see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office. These hours are due NO LATER THAN March 9, 2018.

Seniors: Please look at the scholarship page, it has been updated. the following scholarships have been added/updated. Cameron Joseph St. Clair Memorial Scholarship. Hopewell-Loudon Education Association Scholarship - there is a change to this scholarship for this year only seniors can apply for the HL Education scholarship and be considered for two scholarships. The second one being the Mary Ruth Crandall scholarship.

Attention Juniors: On March 7, 2018, at Heidelberg University from 12:30-2:00 there will be a higher education day. If you are undecided about college this would be a good event to attend. This will be an excused absence, please see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office to sign up.

Attention Junior Girls: Buckeye Girls State applications are in the guidance office. this is an awesome opportunity for a junior girl. The main objective of Girls State is to train young women in the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship. Girls State is the week of June 10th at the University of Mount Union. See Mrs. Hendrix for an application.

Fall 2018 Vaccinations, it is required for all incoming Seniors to have the Quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine before school starts.  All incoming 7th graders are required to have one dose of Tdap and Meningitis vaccine before school starts. Please plan on scheduling your child's appointment today to ensure they are up-to-date on the vaccines they need before school starts in August.

Please do not open doors for anyone trying to enter the building...other students, parents, visitors, delivery people etc. Please direct them to enter the office doors. This is a very important part of our security for our building.
