When calling in a student absence please use our 24-hour absence line 419-937-2802 and leave your name, students name, grade and the reason for the absence. When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and parent signature must be turned in to the office.

There will be a short meeting Wednesday, January 31st right after school in Mr. Suter's room for any girls in grades 9-12 interested in participating in Track and Field this spring. If you are unable to attend, please contact Coach Jones.
There will be a short meeting for Junior High boys and girls interested in running Track this spring in the Auditeria on Wednesday, January 31st at 2:30 pm. An announcement will be made at the time of dismissal for this meeting.
Save the Date! The Seneca County Opportunity Center's Annual Celebrity Basketball Game will be at Heidelberg's Seiberling Gym on March 20th at 7:00 pm. The night is dedicated in honor of the Rainey Family. T-shirts are available to purchase with proceeds going to the Special Olympics (#raineystrong on the sleeve). Order forms are in our school office. Please turn in no later than February 27th.
Attention all 7th and 8th graders. We sold 837 subs and will be making them from 9-noon on Saturday. If you can help for all or any portion of this time, please sign up outside Mr. Heckler's room. Also, any student who sold subs should make arrangements to pick up the subs you sold on Saturday from noon to 2 pm in the Auditeria.
Seniors: We are collecting photos for the Senior Now and Then page. Please give a copy to Lauren Reinhart or to Mrs. Lucius by February 14th if you would like to be included on the Now and Then page.
Speed Camp this Saturday, February 3rd will be from Noon until 1:30 pm in the Chieftain gym.
Valentine's Day is right around the corner! Be sure to make the special person in your life feel special by giving them roses here at H-L! Roses will go on sale starting February 1st and will end Friday, February 9th. They will be on sale in the study hall room for the bargain price of $2.25 per rose or you can take advantage of the bundle deal which is 6 roses for $12.00.
Athletic Physicals will be held February 14th after school, in the locker room area. All forms for physicals can be found and printed from your Final forms account. Cost is $15
Chieftains for Change - Monday, February 19th 6 pm- 8 pm. Families AND Students grades 5-12 are invited to attend. Pizza and snacks will be provided. Childcare also provided. Keynote speaker Brittany Ross, breakout sessions with area speakers including TU students. MUST attend with an adult. Please RSVP by Wednesday, February 7th in the school office.
Speed Camp is now being held on Saturdays at 9 am in the Chieftain Gym. All athletes in grades 7-12 are welcome.
Weight room for non-winter sports will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school.
Seniors: Reminder that you need to turn in 20 hours of community service for graduation, this is a REQUIREMENT. There are still many students with NO hours documented. We have the paperwork in the office that you need to fill out, if you have any questions please see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office. These hours are due NO LATER THAN March 9, 2018.

Attention Junior Boys: Buckeye Boys State will be held on June 10-17 at Miami University. Buckeye Boys State is a way for young men to gain knowledge about Ohio Government. Attention Junior Girls: Buckeye Girls State applications are in the guidance office. this is an awesome opportunity for a junior girl. The main objective of Girls State is to train young women in the duties, privileges, rights, and responsibilities of citizenship. Girls State is the week of June 10th at the University of Mount Union. See Mrs. Hendrix for an application.
Fall 2018 Vaccinations, it is required for all incoming Seniors to have the Quadrivalent meningococcal conjugate vaccine before school starts. All incoming 7th graders are required to have one dose of Tdap and Meningitis vaccine before school starts. Please plan on scheduling your child's appointment today to ensure they are up-to-date on the vaccines they need before school starts in August.
Please do not open doors for anyone trying to enter the building...other students, parents, visitors, delivery people etc. Please direct them to enter the office doors. This is a very important part of our security for our building.
