Chieftain Parents and Students,

**80% of our Finals Forms have been updated and signed by Parents and Students. If you haven't gone on to updated and sign your forms, please do so ASAP. Daily emails will be sent out as reminders until we are at 100% complete.  Thank you for your cooperation in getting us to 100% complete.

Reminder to use our 24-hour absence line 419-937-2802 when calling in a student's absence, leave your name, student name, grade, and the reason for the absence. When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and the parent signature must be turned into the office.

Due to the Corona situation and the limited number of spectators allowed at our home games, we are planning a combined Homecoming and Senior Night on Friday, October 2nd at 7:00 PM at the Football Stadium. There will not be a game, just the presentation of the 2020 Homecoming Court, Senior Fall Athletes and their parents, and a band performance. The last regular season football game is the next night, Saturday, October 3rd. Without a visiting team, there will be more seating for our HL family to attend this event. Information will be going home for Seniors and their families as soon as possible. The week of September 28th will be a Spirit Week. More information will be shared throughout the next two weeks.
Juniors - who are interested in taking the PSAT test here at HL on October 14th. See Mrs. Hendrix in the Guidance office to sign up or any questions. The cost of the test is $17.00, this test is the preliminary qualifier for the National Merit Scholarship.
Seniors - Plan to attend Financial Aide Night through Sentinel Career Center on a zoom meeting on Monday, September 21st starting at 7:00 PM. If you have any questions see Mrs. Hendrix in the guidance office.

Junior Boys - The American Legion is looking for two boys from Hopewell Loudon to attend Buckeye Boys State this summer teaching you about a vital part of every citizen's life, how our Government operates and functions. Buckeye Boys State is held at Miami University in Oxford, OH the week of June 13-20. You can find information about the week at See Mrs. Hendrix if you are interested.
Junior Girls - Buckeye Girls State applications are available in the Guidance Office. The 2021 session will be held at the University of Mount Union, from June 13-19, 2021. The main objective of Girls State is to train young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of citizenship by providing each attendee the opportunity to actively participate in a demographic form of government. S.A.D.D. - If you're interested in being a member of S.A.D.D. please sign up by Friday, September 25th. The sign-up sheet will be in the study hall room and outside Ms. Young's room.
Boys Basketball - All prospective boys basketball players in grades 7-12 are reminded of the online team store which is open now through September 30th for ordering team shoes. If there are any questions or if anyone needs a hard copy of the information, see Coach Jury, Coach Suter, or Coach Berrier.
Girls Basketball - Grades 7-12 if you're interested in playing Basketball, please sign up in the office by October 1st.
H-L Fishing Club - Any boy or girl in grades 7-12 wanting to join the H-L Fishing club, please sign up while in study hall or stop and see Mr. Daniel in room 266 to get the paperwork that is needed to join.
Football Shirt Sale: Last day to turn in order forms and money is Monday, September 21st 12:00 Noon. Please turn into the office.
PM Sentinel - If you're an afternoon Sentinel student and want an H-L lunch to go, please sign up in the Auditeria before school starts. When you sign out at 11:11 your lunch will be ready for pick up in the office.
Sentinel - All Students including Seniors are required by Mr. Rothrock to have a signed permission form on file about driving or leaving early if no Sentinel classes are in session that day. Forms are available in the office to pick up.
Final Forms - Final Forms is our first contact if an emergency arises especially at school, having the emergency contacts accurate, updated, and signed are extremely important now and throughout the entire school year.

InTouch K12 Alerts - Please make sure you're signed up for Alerts, additional numbers can always be added so everyone in the family is informed with school closures, bus information, sporting events info, Jr/Sr High announcements, as well as District communications. You must select all that apply to you, to assure you receive these alerts.

Immunization Records: Are you a 7th grader or 12th grader and got your required shots this year?  We need a copy of your shot records in the office. Student Parking Permits - All students that drive to school must park in the student parking lot and have a 2020-2021 parking permit displayed on the rearview mirror. Parking permits are handed out in the school office, free of charge after the parking permit paper is filled out and signed by a parent and student!
