SENIOR SPOTLIGHT - Tuesday, April 14th
Senior - Hailey Welly
Parents - Dennis and Angie Welly
"Track" Accomplishments- I have been in track all four years of high school and run distance. I primarily run the 3200m, 1600m, and sometimes the 4x800m. Many people hate those events, but I love them. In my freshman and sophomore years, I placed 5th and 6th in the BVC league meet in the 3200m with my career PR being a 13:19. I was unable to run my junior year due to a knee injury but was still on the team.
Future Plans- I will be attending Capital University in the fall to major in nursing to become a Nurse Practitioner.
Thank you’s- First I would like to thank my parents for supporting me in all that I have done while in school. Next, I would like to thank my brother-Hayden, and twin sister-Hannah for always being there to cheer me on. Thanks to my grandparents for being at every game and race that they are able to make it to. I would not have as much love for track if it was not for my amazing team and especially my coaches! Running in the second-to-last event, the 3200m (2 mile) is hard to have people cheer for me, it’s boring to watch haha. My team was always cheering for me no matter how boring it was to watch someone run in eight circles. I want to thank Paul and Teresa for their dedication to both the track and cross country program, I’m going to miss them. I will forever be thankful for my experience in track and will miss everyone!
Thank you to the Welly Family for the Spotlight and Photos!
