CONGRATULATIONS to the Girls Golf team finishing 5th at Sectionals. Kiley Cline moves onto Districts with a 2nd place finish. Districts will be held on Monday, September 30th at Sycamore Springs in Arlington.

GOOD LUCK to the Boys Golf team as they will compete in the Sectionals tomorrow in Clyde.

CONGRATULATIONS to the H-L Equestrian Team who on Sunday qualified for STATE!  They will be competing at the Fulton County Fairgrounds in Wauseon on Sunday, October 6th at 8:00 am.

CONGRATULATIONS on the County Soil Results! The Rural Team was 2nd in the County. Individually in the rural division, Carlee Dell was 1st, Darian Arbogast was 6th, Abby Daniel was 11th, and Alicia Gomez was 12th. The Urban Team was 1st in the County. Individually Emma Shellhammer was 2nd, Jocelyn Levengood was 3rd, Hannah Fought was 7th, Gaige Hess was 11th, and Preston Holman was 14th. Both teams will advance to the District Career Development Event on 9/26.

The Musical Department would like to announce this year's musical The Sound of Music. Performances will be November 23rd at 7:30 & Nov 24th at 2:00 pm. Auditions are underway.  The stage crew will be formed at a later date. Any questions? See Mrs. Lucius or Mrs. Daniel.

Immunization Records: The school is required by law to have a copy of all 7th and 12th graders new immunization shot records verifying shots are up to date. Please send those records into us NOW.  We have to report by October 15th that all 7th and 12th grade students had the required shots this year.  If you are unsure if your student is on the list of not compliant, please call the school office. This is only for 7th and 12th graders.

Parking spots: Showcase your “style” and “personality” while supporting your school!

Student drivers may now pay for the privilege of painting “your” parking space. There is no limited number of spaces designated for painting - you may pick your own spot in the parking lot, but there are some guidelines that must be adhered to in order to participate.

~ The cost per parking space is $20 which will cover the cost of some snacks on the official painting day as well as the cleaning required for future painting.

* The last day to submit your forms and money is Friday, September 27.

* Forms should be turned into Mrs. Jury. Make checks payable to Hopewell-Loudon High School.

~A sketch of your design must be submitted along with your registration form for approval by Friday, September 27. We encourage students to express themselves through positive artwork! Designs that show/include school spirit are highly encouraged! *Of course, any artwork depicting items, symbols, or language that is deemed inappropriate will not be allowed. You will be contacted if any changes are necessary.

~You will select your space (Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores - first-come, first-served) at the same time you submit your form and money to Mrs. Jury.

~ The official Paint Day will be Sunday, Oct 6 from 1:00 - 5:00 to help kick off Homecoming Week. (Rain date Sunday Oct., 13.) This will be a fun day! Snacks will be provided, music will be playing, and bottled water will be available throughout the day. Please note that painting is only permitted at this specified day and time.

~ Additionally, any students who do not have plans to paint their own parking space are encouraged to help a friend and/or student council paint a few areas on each end of the student parking lot with Chieftain Spirit! See Mrs. Jury to sign up as a volunteer!

Fifth Quarter - Students in grades 7-12 are invited to the all NEW Fifth Quarter after Friday's home football games. Fifth Quarter is located at Hopewell Church of God on County rd 48 immediately following the game, until 11:00 pm. BIG NEWS every time you attend Fifth Quarter this year, you will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win an outing for you and four friends to visit the Haunted Hydro and escape rooms in Fremont, OH. The more times you attend the Fifth Quarter, the better your chances of winning this $100 prize.

Dig Pink Volleyball - Our annual Dig Pink game will be held Thursday, September 26th at H-L when the Lady Chieftains take on Calvert, Come decked out in all pink and show your support for a great cause. New pink T-shirts are being sold to support the Sideout Foundation.  Order forms were sent home with your student and are due by Tuesday, Sept 17th. Extra forms are available in the office.

Junior High will be hosting their Dig Pink game on Thursday, October 3rd against New Riegel. If anyone is willing to donate baked goods for that night, please bring to the school office on the morning of October 3rd.

Sports passes -are available now in the office. Adults are $50 for $10 punches and Students are $30 for 10 punches.  Save money and buy your sports pass in the office.

Final Forms - Please access Final Forms ASAP and update and sign all documents, as a parent and student. It's very important to always keep this information accurate and current as this is the emergency contact information we use, as well as all mailing labels, get generated with the information you provide when we mail out report cards, notes, and letters throughout the school year.

Early Yearbook Sale is here - Get your yearbook now and save on the 2020 yearbook. the yearbook order form had an error. The cost of the yearbook from now until October 31st is $40, or $45 if you would like personalization. Get your 2020 yearbook for $40 NOW!!! 

El Club de Espanol is gearing up for 2019-20. If you are a current student in a Spanish class or have taken a Spanish class in the past, you are eligible to participate in the club. 

Student Parking Permits - All students that drive to school must park in the student parking lot and have a 2019-2020 parking permit displayed on the rearview mirror. Parking permits are handed out in the school office.

Attention grades 7-12 next year if you are interested in taking classes through College Credit Plus, there will be an information meeting here at the high school on November 7, 2019, @ 6:00 pm in the Auditeria. Holly Cipriani from Bowling Green State University will be here presenting the information and representatives from Findlay, Owens Community College, Terra Community College, Heidelberg University, and Tiffin University will be available to answer individual questions after the meeting. Please plan to attend. If you need any further information, see Mrs. Hendrix.

Sophomores & Juniors: October 16th, 2019 PSAT test will be given at H-L. If you are a junior taking the test you have the opportunity to be eligible for the National Merit Scholarship. It is a good practice for the ACT & SAT test. If you would like more information or to sign up see Mrs. Hendrix. The cost of the test is $17.00.

Seniors - you are required to have 20 hours of Community Service for Graduation. Those hours are due no later than March 13, 2020. Please turn those into Mrs. Hendrix or Mrs. Hoffman. If you are struggling to get service hours please see Mrs. Hendrix. Also, stop and see Mrs. Hoffman for dates/times of concession stand.
