Please use our 24-hour absence line 419-937-2802 when calling in a students absence, leave your name, students name, grade and the reason for the absence. When your student returns to school, a note with the dates of absence, the reason for the absence, and parent signature must be turned into the office.

**Please update Final Forms and notify the office immediately to any changes with phone numbers, address or emergency contacts, so we always have the most updated information on file for the safety of your child. Thank you

School is in session on Monday, February 18th!

Congratulations to the following students:

Denver Staib and Gaige Hess on placing 2nd in the District at the AG Power CDE.  Terri Greene was 1st in Advanced Creed, Becky Greene placed 2nd in the Extemporaneous speaking CDE. Good Luck to Terri and Becky as they advance to the District Event. Good Luck to Denver and Gaige as they advance to the State CDE on March 1st.

Wrestling - BVC at Liberty Benton 2/16 10 am - Sectional at Van Buren 2/22 6 pm and 2/23 at 10 am! Girls 1st Sectional Basketball game is at Fremont Ross on 2/19 8 pm vs St. Joe! Boys 1st Sectional Basketball game is at Carey on 2/26 6:15 pm vs Danbury!

Tonight is the last BVC Basketball game! Come out to show your support. It is all out Hawaiian for the student section. Let's see your bermudas, flowers, sunglasses, etc.! Tomorrow night is the Battle of Bull Frog Road! Let's sink the Blue Jackets! It's going to be a RED OUT! - tell your parents and friends to wear red shirts or sweatshirts! We want to see the whole home side red. But for students who sit in the student section - 8th graders, Juniors and Seniors are supposed to wear white as we'd like to see a mix just in that area! 

Student Council will be sponsoring a Spirit Bus - to Riverdale next Friday, February 22nd for the boys' last regular season basketball game. Any student 7-12 can participate; we need about 50 students to make it worthwhile. Sign up with Mrs. Jury by Tuesday. The cost will be $5 and you will need a permission slip returned by Wednesday. The student section theme will be decided by Monday - if you ride the bus plan on dressing up! Let's go Chieftains - let's see your spirit!

Reminder we have started Speed Camp every Saturday morning at 9 am in the Chieftain Gym. This is free and open to all athletes grades 7-12. 

3rd Annual FFA Dodgeball Tournament February 26th, at 7:00 pm at New Riegel. $15 per team, please contact any member of the FFA or Mr. Horner to sign up.

SENIORS - If you paid for your Cap and Gown and haven't picked it up yet, please pick up in the office.  If you still owe money, please pay Jostens directly, and then your items will then be able to pick up in the office.

Graduation Invites - There are individual ones for sale for $1 in the office.

SENIORS - If you still have not turned in your 20 hours of community service, it is due by March 8, 2019!

SENIORS: Please continue to check the scholarship page, several scholarships have been updated recently.

Juniors - Applications for Buckeye Girls State are available in the Guidance Office. The 2019 session will be held at the University of Mount Union, from June 16-22, 2019. The main objective of Girls State is to train young women in the duties, privileges, right and responsibilities of citizenship by providing each attendee the opportunity to actively participate in a democratic form of government. For more information see Mrs. Hendrix.

JUNIORS: Wednesday, March 6th Heidelberg University is hosting a higher education day! FRom 12:30-2:00 if you want information, please see Mrs. Hendrix.

Don't forget to clean out your closets, the Junior class is collecting gently worn, used and new shoes of any kind. Ask your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to donate. Collected shoes are used to support micro-enterprise vendors. Collection boxes are located in the office and throughout the school now and until March 1, 2019!

***All students must park in the student parking lot and use the student entrance only.    Do not drive behind the school.

Traveling Ensemble - Tuesday & Thursday at 7:15 am

FFA - 2nd Friday at 6:15 am

REMINDER: Please do not open doors for anyone trying to enter the building...other students, parents, visitors, delivery people etc. Please direct them to enter the office doors. This is a very important part of our security for our building.
